Twitter Tips Wrap-up

In my last post I left you building your followers.  Now that you have followers, are they all following you back?  Until you have built up your followers and have more people following you than you are following, you need to keep your followers and those you are following balanced.   Once you have started following give them at least a week to follow you back.

After a week, go to your profile.  Under your name in the upper right hand corner, you will see below it two categories – following and followers.  The “following” category includes everyone that you are following as well as those that are following you back.  You can click on “following”.  You will notice as you scroll through the pages that some of those that you are following have “direct message” listed under them.  Those are the people who are also following you back.  You can only direct message someone who is actually following you.

On the far right side you will see a button that says “remove”.  You can remove anyone you chose, however our purpose here is to remove all of those who are not following you back, so that you can look for more followers.  Anyone listed that does not have “direct message” below their name is not following you back.  Simply click on the “remove” button and you are no longer following them.

This is a very manual method for removing those that are not following you.  There are automated ways to do this as well.  I will be adding a “Twitter Tips” page to this blog that will consolidate all of my post along with listing additional tips and resources.

As you become more comfortable with Twitter and tweeting, you will want to become more organized.  There are many tools out there can help you automate your work.  Keep checking back.  I will be posting my “Twitter Tips” page soon.

Keep in mind as an artist working on developing your skills and writing songs is your primary focus.  Trying to promote and sell yourself can be confusing and frustrating.  I can help clear up the confusion.  Click on my logo and check out my website to view the services that I offer.  My rates are reasonable.  I am here to help you not break the bank.

Feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions!
